John Logie Baird Walk Around the Park

The Josepth Paxton Society are doing a John Logie Baird themed weekend this weekend in the park. (Baird was a Scottish engineer, most famous for being the first person to demonstrate a working television.)

There's an exhibition in the rangers hut and two walks planned:
  • Saturday 27th October: 2pm from the Museum
  • Sunday 28th October: 2pm from the rangers' hut (Penge gate)

For more about the work of Baird in Crystal Palace, see this article on the Sydenham Town website:

Exhibition of Park Plans

The London Development Agency (LDA) is planning to run an exhibition of the master plans for Crystal Palace Park. The exhibition will be held at Crystal Palace train station (in the old booking hall) from Thursday 18 October to Wednesday 31 October.

Time: Monday-Friday 7.30am-9pm
Saturday-Sunday 10am-6pm

We're advising everyone with an interest in the future of the Park to go down and have a look at the plans, as these are what will be submitted to Bromley for planning approval....

We understand that play facilities will be available.
